The Conservation Corps based in Waiohiki were engaged in the restoration and maintenance of the Otatara Historic Reserve. They also worked at the Ahuriri estuary. The Trust were beginning to generate lots of paperwork through their activities, and had got to a place where an administrator was required to handle this side of the work going on through the WCCT. Denis approached Jenny to become the Secretary. Jennys role as Secretary/Treasurer to the WCCT has expanded as the idea and infrastructure of the Waiohiki Creative Arts Village has grown, into being the Village Manager. Jenny has very successfully handled a myriad of tasks associated with the running of the Waiohiki Creative Arts Village, and the WCCT and associated activities here. Jenny has been a driving force in many of the improvements that have occurred here at the Creative Arts Village. Jenny has fundraised tirelessly to gather the monetary resources necessary to fund the numerous improvements here at the Village. Jenny has ‘worn many potai’ in her time here and has planted trees, been an excellent all round administrator, organised numerous events - and often acted as ‘Arsekicker/ Motivational Technician’ to the sometimes laid back crew that inhabit the Creative Arts Village. Jennys Family has often helped out here at the Village, and Hans was involved in general maintence , and Jennys daughter and ‘partner in law’ have often helped out at WCAV events. We wish Jenny and Hans all the best in their well-earned retirement and travels. We thank Jenny for the personal passion, effort and time and aroha that she has given to us here at the Village.
